SavaNet-Ghana at the 26th IFAMA Annual World Congress in Aarhus Denmark
The 26th World Congress of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) took place in Aarhus Denmark at the Radisson Blu Hotel conference centre from the 19th-23rd June 2016.
SavaNet-Ghana was represented by its Executive Director following our partnership with the Research and Innovation Support for Europe and Africa (RINEA) project funded by the EU.
The conference is a world – wide leadership forum stimulating strategic thinking across the food chain, and brings together over 400 top food and Agribusiness leaders, academics, government policy makers, consumers and other concerened stakeholders from around the world.
The 26th IFAMA world conference was on the team “ Become the solution: food security 2050”. The conference commernced with a student case competition, which for the past 11 years has served as a capstone event for IFAMA. It offered 25 student teams the platform to demonstrate their analytical and problem sloving skills before a panel of senior mamagement judges.
Parallel sessions at the symposium included: the role of technology in food security, food security and sustainability, managing Agribusiness problems for a systematic change, climate smart Agriculture: multi-displinary approaches now and in the future, etc.
The confernce also provided particpants the opportunity to visit interesting Agriculture establishment e.g. the Agro food park/Seges, Agro Business Park/Aarhus University - Research center foulum, Dupont/Danish Technological Institute, Danish Crown Horsens, etc.
A flagship event of the conference was a Matchmaking session that offered participants a unique opportunity to network and build partnerships. The reception for the close of the conference was held at Aarhus University were participants joined students to mark a traditional Danish mid-summer festival with Bonfire.
